Overview

Product Overview

The EN856 4SH hose is the highest-pressure four-spiral hose in the EN856 standard, designed for the most demanding hydraulic systems. With 4 layers of high-tensile steel wire spiral and a thick abrasion-resistant cover, it is the choice for ultra-high-pressure applications in heavy industry.

This design withstands extreme pressures and temperatures ranging from -40°F to 212°F, ensuring reliable hydraulic performance under harsh conditions.

Its synthetic rubber cover is highly tolerant to adverse weather conditions, oil, and abrasion, MSHA approved. And EN 856 4SH/DIN 20023 4SH 4-ply spiral hydraulic hose for very high-pressure applications and pulse cycles, and it mainly used in the oil-pressure equipment sector where medium-high pressures ranging from 250 to 420 bars for industries such as Oil & Gas, Mining, Steel, Forestry, and other industries.

It has nominal diameters from 3/4" to 2". It tolerates pressures from 3500 PSI to 6000 PSI. It has excellent performance in delivering petroleum-based hydraulic fluids in the working temperature of -40 °C to +100 °CIts main difference with the 4SP hose is that the 4SH hose tolerates higher pressures.

For installing the couplings, the “skiving” operation must be performed. For better sealing, the use of multispiral fittings is recommended.

EN 856 4SH hose is a hydraulic hose with a high-pressure rating, which makes it suitable for heavy-duty industrial applications where fluids need to be reliably transferred under extreme pressure conditions.

Recommended for: Very high-pressure applications and pulse cycles, for petroleum-based fluids. Exceeds the requirements of EN 856 4SH and DIN 200023 4SH.

Its four spiral layer of high-strength steel wire construction and resistance to abrasion, weather, and oil make it a reliable choice for fluid transfer in harsh environments.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

When to specify 4SH instead of 4SP?
Specify 4SH when you need higher working pressure at larger inside diameters. For example, at 2" ID, both 4SP and 4SH are rated 16 MPa, but at 3/4" to 1" 4SH is engineered for a different pressure envelope. Always compare the published pressure table for your exact size.
What is the burst pressure of 4SH?
Burst pressure is at least 3× working pressure for every size. For 3/4" 4SH the working pressure is 42 MPa, giving a minimum burst pressure of 126 MPa.
Can 4SH be used in sub-zero environments?
Yes. The NBR compound is rated for -40°C. For arctic applications below -40°C, specify a low-temperature cover compound. Always confirm with our engineers for continuous cold-climate service.
Do you provide crimped 4SH assemblies?
Yes. Send your BOM with hose size, length, fitting part numbers and crimp specification. We ship proof-tested, labelled assemblies ready for installation.
What is the lead time for 4SH hose?
Standard sizes typically ship in 15-25 days. Custom compounds, MSHA-style covers or large container quantities may extend lead time. Confirm with our sales engineer when ordering.
