Product Overview

The EPDM steam hose is designed for conveying saturated steam and hot water in industrial plants. The EPDM compound resists high temperature, ozone and aging. Steel wire braid reinforcement provides safety margin for steam pressure. Ideal for refineries, chemical plants, food processing and steam cleaning.

With a 10:1 safety factor, our high-temperature Steam Hose is designed for transferring steam for processing products and equipment cleaning. Our Steam Hose is constructed with an EPDM tube and braids of steel wire reinforcement. The EPDM cover provides external protection, resistance to high internal pressures and helps eliminate static charges. This high quality hose is rated for up to 250 psi working pressure and is built for saturated and super-heated steam services. Used in the chemical and petroleum industry, industrial cleaning equipment, ship building, lumber and pulp processing.

What is the maximum steam pressure this hose can handle?

The hose is rated for 10-18 bar working pressure depending on size. Saturated steam at 165°C corresponds to approximately 7 bar. Always confirm your steam pressure and temperature with our engineers before ordering.

What is the difference between ISO 6134 Type 1 and Type 2?

Type 1 is for general-purpose steam service. Type 2 has a higher safety factor (≥ 4× burst vs. working pressure) and is specified for more critical or higher-temperature steam applications. We supply Type 2 as standard.

Can this hose handle superheated steam?

No. This hose is rated for saturated steam only. Superheated steam requires a different compound and reinforcement - contact our engineers for a specific recommendation.

How should steam hose be stored and maintained?

Store coiled horizontally in a cool, dry, dark area away from ozone sources (electric motors, fluorescent lights). Inspect before each use for cover damage, kinks or blisters. Pressure-test periodically and replace at the first sign of cover cracking or tube degradation.

Do you supply steam hose assemblies with fittings?

Yes. We crimp steam-rated fittings (crowsfoot, claw-type, ANSI flanges) per your spec. Send your fitting part numbers, hose length and quantity for a quotation.
